Lyricist Gajmer no more

KATHMANDU, June 1: Famous lyricist Kusum Gajmer has passed away in Mumbai on Friday. She was 72.

KATHMANDU, June 1: Famous lyricist Kusum Gajmer has passed away in Mumbai on Friday. She was 72.


Ailing from liver problem since long time, Gajmer is wife of musician Ranjit Gajmer.  Born in 1945 in Darjeeling, she had written many hit songs of Nepali movies like ‘Kusume Rumal’, ‘Lahure’, ‘Behuli’, ‘Chino’, ‘Basuri’ and ‘Darpan Chhaya’ among others.

‘Mohani Lagla Hai’, ‘Chiya Baari Ma’, ‘Pirati Aafai Hudo Rahecha’, and ‘Birata Ko Chino’ are some of the famous songs written by Gajmer.
