KATHMANDU, March 22: Loktantrik Samajwadi Party (LSP) leader Rajendra Mahato has been expelled from the party. LSP Chairman Mahanta Thakur informed the press at a conference held after a meeting of the party that Mahato had been automatically expelled as he had started activities outside the party.

Mahato, who was previously affiliated with Sadbhawana Party in the past,  and Thakur, who joined the Rastriya Janata Party after a few years of forming the Terai Madhesh Loktantrik Party, came together to form the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) in 2020. Following a split in the JSP, Thakur, Mahato and others had formed the LSP.
