Loader driver injured while clearing landslide debris

CHITWAN, Aug 7: A loader driver was gravely injured when a boulder fell on him while he was trying to clear a landslide at Nagdi River of Icchakamana Rural Municipality-4 in Chitwan.

CHITWAN, Aug 7: A loader driver was gravely injured when a boulder fell on him while he was trying to clear a landslide at Nagdi River of Icchakamana Rural Municipality-4 in Chitwan. 


According to the District Police Office, Chitwan, the loader driver was injured when he was hit by a boulder while clearing the landslide debris at around 7:40 AM on Wednesday on the Prithivi Highway.

The injured driver has been identified as Liladhar Adhikari, 46, of Galchhi Rural Municipality-6. He has sustained injuries on his left arm. 


The police stated that it would take some more time to clear the landslide debris as only one excavator and one loader are deployed at present at the site to clear the landslide. 


The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has urged people to remain on high alert as heavy rainfall is likely to occur in many parts of the country today.
