KATHMANDU, March 11: The daily load shedding duration has been brought down to 10 hours daily effective from Monday. There was a 12-hour power-outage daily previously.

According to the Nepal Electricity Authority, the new power schedule has been introduced considering the upcoming School Leaving Certificate examinations starting March 14. [break]

The NEA also stated that the slicing of power-cut this time has been possible due to timely completion of repair works at Kaligandaki A hydroelectricity project and import of electricity from India, among other reasons. It however said the previous load shedding schedule might come into effect again once the SLC exams are over.
