KATHMANDU: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) increased load shedding to 45 hours a week from the existing 31 hours, with effect from Wednesday. As per the new schedule, the NEA will cut power supply seven hours – four hours in the morning and three hours in the evening -- on six days, and only three hours on the remaining day of the week. The new schedule will be effective in the areas from Lamahi of Dang to Lahan of Siraha. This is the third time the NEA has increased the weekly load-shedding hours in four months. The load-shedding schedule in the far-western districts where electricity is supplied from Tanakpur transmission will be set locally.
