Literature and int’l drama festival to be held in Janakpur

DHANUSHA, Jan 3: A literature and international drama festival is going to be organized in Janakpurdham for the promotion of the Maithili language, literature, art, culture, economy and tourism. 

The Maithali Development Trust is going to organize the festival at Mahendra Narayan Nidhi Mithila Cultural Center from February 1 to 5. 

There will be 20 sessions during the 5-day festival during which discussion on politics, economics, literature and social issues will be held, said Jibnath Chaudhary, chairperson of the Trust.

According to Chaudhary, a total of eight plays from Nepal and India will be staged during the festival. Plays will be shown in Maithili, Nepali, Hindi, Assamese and Bengali languages.

According to the organizers, the festival will feature a host of events such as painting exhibition, book exhibition, drama exhibition and Mithila cuisine among others.
