PARSA, Dec 3: The local administration has imposed a ban on the production, sale and consumption of liquor in Parsa district to help conduct the elections in a peaceful manner.
A meeting of the District Security Committee decided to prohibit the production, transport and consumption of alcohol in the district until the second phase of elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies were over, according to Assistant Chief District Officer, Durga Dutta Poudel.
He said the ban has been enforced as people would take alcohol and create disturbance in the election and since there was also the possibility of candidates and parties buying votes by giving alcohol to voters.
Assistant CDO Poudel warned of stern action against anyone violating this ban.(RSS)
