Limbuwan strike hits Eastern region

ITAHARI, Sept 8: Normal life in the Eastern Region remained affected Wednesday due to banda called by Sanghiya Limbuwan Rajyaparishad.



The party called strike to pressure the government to implement the past agreements signed with the party. [break]



Though banda was imposed in nine plain districts, traffic in hilly districts also stayed off the road and very few vehicles were seen plying in the plain areas. Industrial and educational activities in the districts were affected.



However, motorcycles, ambulances, press vehicles and dairy vehicles plied without obstruction.



Inner markets in Dharan completely remained closed. Banda, however, caused partial effects in Itahari.
