KATHMANDU, Feb 20: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) has recorded a partial impact of westerly winds and a western low-pressure system nationwide. Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Lumbini, and Gandaki provinces are experiencing partly to generally cloudy weather, while the rest are experiencing clear weather. Parts of the Terai region remain engulfed by fog.
The DHM said it would be partly to mostly cloudy in the day in Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Lumbini, Gandaki, and other hilly regions, while elsewhere it will be mostly clear. Light rain with thunder and lightning is expected in some locations in the provinces of Lumbini, Sudurpaschim, and Karnali, and some areas in the other provinces' hilly regions. Additionally, some of the high-hill and mountainous areas in Sudurpaschim, Karnali, and Gandaki provinces can see slight snowfall at some locations.

Clouds will blanket parts of Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces tonight, and the hilly sections of the other provinces will see partial clouds. The rest of the nation will be relatively clear. Some of the hills of Gandaki, Sudurpaschim, and Karnali provinces and some locations in other hills can have light rain with lightning and thunder. Light snow in some of the high-hill and mountainous regions of Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces and some locations in other high-hill and mountainous areas is also expected.
In the next 24 hours, light rain with thunder and lightning will be possible in some of the hill districts of Gandaki, Sudurpaschim, and Karnali provinces and some places in the hill belt of Lumbini and other provinces. Light snowfall is expected in some high-hill and mountainous parts of Gandaki, Sudurpaschim, and Karnali provinces and a few areas of other high-hill and mountainous regions.
The DHM has advised the public and concerned authorities to remain vigilant, as the weather conditions would have a moderate effect on everyday life, health, road travel, and air travel.
