Life insurers’ premium collection grew by 12.17 pc in first 8 months of current FY

KATHMANDU, April 5: Life insurance companies collected as much as Rs 92.20 billion as premium in the first eight months of the current fiscal year - 12.17 percent more than the amount collected during the same period of the last fiscal year.

KATHMANDU, April 5: Life insurance companies collected as much as Rs 92.20 billion as premium in the first eight months of the current fiscal year - 12.17 percent more than the amount collected during the same period of the last fiscal year.


During the review period, the insurers collected Rs 25.91 billion from their new clients while the remaining Rs 66.28 billion was collected from renewal of the insurance policies. With a premium collection of Rs 23.93 billion, Nepal Life Insurance led the business in the segment.

Out of the 19 life-insurers, Life Insurance Company stood at the second position with its premium collection amount of Rs 11.11 billion. National Life Insurance and MetLife Insurance are in the row of insurers doing a notable business during mid-July 2021 and mid-March 2022.
