KATHMANDU, Oct 30: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Prem Bahadur Ale has said that the only official national flag carrier airline of Nepal, the Nepal Airlines Corporation, should be taken to new heights.

In a discussion with government and private sector airline operators organized at the Ministry on Friday, Minister Ale urged the Nepal Airlines Corporation should be developed from all levels, streams and regions.

Minister Ale said, "I want government airlines to fly in the skies of Nepal like the private sector. Please, let's all work together to develop the only national flag-carrying airline of our country to reach new heights." The private sector operators expressed their commitment to remain positive for the operation of the Nepal Airlines despite the fact that the airlines also faced problems due to the recent global pandemic as there was lack of arrival of tourists in the country.

In the program, the private sector operators complained how there was a security threat to the air planes in most of the hilly districts of Nepal. They urged Minister Ale to immediately tighten security in the area as when planes are parked in the airport apron at night for some reason, people can hit it with a rock which can cause great damage to the plane.
