KATHMANDU, April  7: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that to achieve the goal of sustainable development, cooperation between federal, provincial and local governments as well as private, cooperative, non-governmental sector, civil society and development partners is necessary.

Addressing the meeting of the Sustainable Development Goals National Steering Committee held today at the office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers at Singha durbar, he said that the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals cannot be achieved through the efforts of the government alone, and that the private, cooperative sector, non-governmental organizations, civil society and development partners will all play an equally important role in this.

Therefore, there is a need for coordination, cooperation and partnership between all these sectors. For this, the government will play a leading role, while other sectors should realize their responsibilities and join hands with the government in the implementation of policies and programs in line with sustainable development, he said.
