KATHMANDU, Oct 6: CPN (UML) chairman KP Sharma Oli has said the leftist alliance and unity was linked with the campaign to build the better nation not only for garnering majority in the election.

Addressing a programme organised by the party Kathmandu district committee here today, leader Oli said there was no need for anyone to be panicked by the leftist unity.

"Instead it is for mixing up power and intelligent of all to find a way to take the country out of corruption and thus lead it towards prosperity."

It may be noted three leftist political parties--CPN (UML), CPN (Maoist Centre) and Nayashakti Party Nepal --on October 3 announced their alliance for the elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies scheduled for November 26 and December 7, promising party unification in the days ahead.

"The UML is capable of garnering general majority alone in the election. The alliance is for bringing all together to the great campaign of building the prosperous nation," he insisted.

On the occasion, former Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Nepal Police Nawaraj Silwal, singer Sanjay Shrestha, cine artist Prakash Adhikari, Rastriya Prajatantra Party's Akbar Mohammed Gadhi and Shatrudhan Rajbhandari of Nepali Congress joined the UML and Chair Oli and other leaders welcomed the new comers to the party.

Former DIG Silwal said he was meted out injustice in the police organization as he was intentionally barred from becoming the police chief despite his competency, and that now he wished to serve the society through politics. RSS
