Leaders and public figures urge to play safe during this festive season

KATHMANDU, Oct 26: Former Prime Ministers, party leaders, lawmakers and other prominent figures have urged one and all to celebrate this year’s Dashain festival staying where they are and being cautious amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

KATHMANDU, Oct 26: Former Prime Ministers, party leaders, lawmakers and other prominent figures have urged one and all to celebrate this year’s Dashain festival staying where they are and being cautious amid the COVID-19 pandemic. 


Hindus across the globe are observing one of their major festivals today. Families and relatives visit each other, receive blessings and share love. However, this time due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the government has urged the general public to avoid gatherings and tours in order to prevent transmission of COVID-19.

Earlier today, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and President Bidya Devi Bhandari urged one and all to celebrate Dashain from where they are and maintain social distancing.


Similarly, NCP Chairman Pushpa Kamla Dahal, NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba, and Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun have also appealed to confine this year's Dashain celebration within family members and follow health safety protocols.


Likewise, Extending best wishes on the occasion of Bijaya Dashami, Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana and Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota have also requested the general public to play safe during this festive season by avoiding unnecessary gatherings and maintaining social distancing.
