BHAKTAPUR, Aug 6: Nepali Congress (NC) central member Arjun Narsingh KC has said that the selection of ministers should in no way be based on intra-party factional sharing.

He said so speaking at a free health camp, medicine distribution and blood donation program organized at Balkot of Anantalingeswor municipality of Bhaktapur on Saturday.

The program was organized by Shyam Bahadur Memorial Foundation on the occasion of the ninth Memorial Day of Shyam Bahadur Karki.

"The position should not be decided on power sharing within the party. The qualification, capacity, popularity and experience should be the bases for ministerial selection", he said, adding that the leadership should adopt accommodative approach to determine seniority, respect and capability.

Leader KC noted that he had presented his opinion not to accept the ministerial berth in the party through different channels and made it clear that he rejected the offer considering that public service is greater than position. "I had sought a ministry where I could serve the people. Defense Ministry is not something to work directly in close touch with the people", he clarified.

Foundation Chairperson Bishnu Raj Karki presided over the program. RSS
