LBCC storms into semifinal

KATHMANDU, April 2: Lord Buddha Cricket Club (LBCC) on Thursday stormed into the semifinal of the First Kathmandu Cricket League being held at the Tundikhel, Kathmandu.

LBCC thrashed Ultimate Indoor Cricket in group C for second win in the three-team group. Opting to bat first, opener Sujan Thapaliya quick-fired 136 off 87 for LBCC as it scored huge total of 344/9 in the match reduced to 45 over.Sujan cracked five sixes and 17 fours. He shared 110 run stand for the first wicket with Bishwas Adhikari (45 off 47) and 132 run partnership for the second wicket with Sanjeev Khanal (40 off 38) before the latter was bowled. Arjun Pandey of Ultimate claimed three wickets followed by two wickets each from Sudeep Nepal and Kushal Basnet.

In the run chase, Ultimate was bowled out for a meager total of 88 runs in 30.3 over. Sudeep Nepal (20), Kushal Basnet (14) and skipper Arjun Pandey (12) were the only players to score runs in double figure for Ultimate. Prasoon Thapa and Abhises Thapa picked three wickets each for LBCC.
