KATHMANDU, June 18: Lawmaker Thakur Prasad Gaire has said that India has done a reprehensible act of including Nepal's Kapilavastu and Lumbini in the mural map installed at its new parliament building. 

Speaking in the zero hour of the House of Representatives on Sunday, Gaire objected to what he claimed were attempts by India to spread false information through the film 'Adipurush' that Sita, the consort of Hindu god Ram, is a daughter of India.

"The cinema script writer is giving an utterly misleading statement through an interview that Nepal is a part of India. What has been the Government of Nepal doing? Is it that India has retracted from the Sugauli Treaty? The government needs to be clear on these issues," he demanded. 

Lawmaker Gaire said Nepal is ready to pay any price for defending its territory if India is really trying to do that. He added that not even an inch of Nepali territory would be allowed to be ceded and all should be united for defending the national sovereignty.

Lawmaker Dol Prasad Aryal called for finding out the truth and facts about the Indian side measuring the Nepali land in an unauthorized manner. 

Aryal said, "On June 16, an Indian team surveyed the land up to Sukkasal via Bhujela Gaddachauki in Kanchanpur stating that the Indian National Highway is conducting the survey. The Nepali security personnel deputed on security duty at the border did not even get an indication even when the technical representative who had come with survey equipment entered Nepal. Is it that the security personnel have been deployed at the border only to give them their salary?"

Lawmaker Tara Lama Tamang expressed sorrow over the loss of life and property and 25 persons having gone missing due to the flooding in various districts of Koshi Province last night. She drew the government's attention to address the genuine demands of employees of the community schools across the country.

Dr Toshima Karki called attention of the government towards the flourishing black marketeering in the country and called for controlling it.

Dayal Bahadur Shahi drew the government's attention to the displacement from home of the Dalit community families in Bajura owing to incessant rain.

Lawmaker Dilendra Prasad Badu stressed on the need of addressing the demands of the agitating teachers through dialogue.

Deepak Bahadur Singh said the drought has damaged crops cultivated by farmers and drew the government's attention towards the shortage of fertilizer during the paddy planting season.

Damodar Poudel Bairagi called for bringing the Education Service Regulations at the earliest possible. 

Lawmakers Durga Rai, Deepa Sharma, Pushpa Bahadur Shah, Purna Bahadur Gharti Magar, Pratima Gautam, Prtikshya Tiwari, Dhan Bahadur Budha, Dhruba Bahadur Pradhan, Nisha Dangi, Prabhu Saha, Prabhu Hajara Dushad, Prem Bahadur Maharjan, Prem Suwal, Basudev Ghimire, Bindabasini Kansakar, Binita Kathayat, Nawal Kishor Shah, Narayan Prasad Acharya, Nagina Yadav and Narayani Sharma called attention of the government on the nation's contemporary topics as the citizenship, drinking water shortage, flood and landslide hazards, damage caused by recent incessant rains and safety in public transport, among other issues.
