"Around 70 percent of our linked articles will be in English and the rest will be in Nepali. However, exceptional articles in other regional languages of Nepal will be linked as well," says Saroj Dhakal, a coordinator of DukuNepal.com. [break]
The objective of the website is to provide a single platform for readers interested in Nepal so that they can find some of the best articles written about Nepal.
"Dukunepal.com is neither an organization nor does it intend to profit from the website. It is merely a gathering of a group of individuals interested in Nepali affairs. We hope our readers will like the articles we link and regularly visit our website," says Erisha Suwal, another coordinator of Dukunepal.com.
The website will serve as an aggregate of relevant information on current issues in Nepal and it hopes to be a curator of such information.
Inspired by arts and letters daily, Dukunepal.com plans to link at least one article each day and be a comprehensive source of information for Nepalis both in Nepal and abroad. The suggestions for linking articles can be given by any individual by emailing at "editors@dukunepal.com".
The Dukunepal.com will have a member committee with the provision of each suggestion being reviewed by each of the members of the committee; it aims to be as neutral as possible.
"Since each article or information linked will be reviewed and approved by each member, we ensure that we are neutral and link articles based on their contents not views," says Saroj.
When asked why the name "duku" was chosen, Saroj says, "As ´duku´ is nutritious to the health of an individual, dukunepal.com will be nourishing to the thoughts of the general public."
