Speaking at the function, CA Chairman Nembang discussed the late Singh´s role during the Janandolan-I for the democratic system.
CA Chairman Nembang stressed on the need of implementation of the seven-point agreement saying if only the agreement was implemented, the peace process would have been taken to its logical conclusion and promulgation of the constitution is possible.
NC President Koirala recalled Singh for his courageous and commanding leadership to bring democracy in the country.
Delivering his views on the recent cabinet decision to ask the President for clemency to lawmaker representing the Unified CPN (Maoist), Balkrishna Dhungel, he said to withdraw the case which was already decided by the Supreme Court directing life sentence and confiscation of property, is equivalent to encouraging impunity in the country, and urged the government to be serious in this regard.
"Democracy means the rule of law, there can be security for all in democracy and the ruling system should be guided according to law," said Koirala.
NC leader and late Singh´s son Prakashman Singh recalled the background of historical movement in 1990, saying the change was possible when the democratic and leftist forces were united. He also if democracy was established, then only there will be real respect to Supreme Commander Singh.
Ganeshman Singh was born on Kartik 24, 1972 BS and died on Asoj 2, 2054 BS.
