SANKHUWASABHA, Aug 23: Around 350 members of 56 families, who went out of contact after an incessant rainfall triggered a landslide at Betani of Bala VDC-9 in Sankhuwasabha district, have come into contact with the police.

Police Inspector Prakash Sharma said the locals came in contact with a team of police personnel sent from Tamku Police Post. It took two days for police to reach the site.

Police said the locals were taking refuge in a cave for fear of landslide. Acting Chief District Officer Rajendra Sigdel said effort was underway to shift them to a safe location. They went out of contact after floods and landslide swept away the bridge situated on the border between Bala and Tamku VDCs.
