According to Bhattarai´s aide Biswadeep Pandey, Landgren was of the view that the government formation is process is becoming protracted while UNMIN´s extended term is ending soon and that the remaining time may not be sufficient to complete the process of the integration and rehabilitation of the Maoist combatants.

In response, Bhattari told Landgren that the term of the UNMIN should be extended until the peace process reaches its logical conclusion.
