The Armed Police had occupied the land of locals, Surya Bahadur Chand and Dikara Devi Baag, and the land along with a building of the Mahakali Irrigation Project at Bhimdutta Municipality-11.[break]
Around three katthas of land each of Chand and Baag, and five katthas and a building of the project was captured by the Armed Police in 2061 BS in course of setting up of the camp.
At the moment, the APF had taken the land on condition of providing compensation worth Rs. 200,000 per kattha.
Landowner Chand said they have frequently requested the District Administration Office and the APF to take initiatives for providing compensation to the victims but no attention was paid towards it.
The agreement was made in the presence of the former Chief District Officer Dhruba Raj Wagle, APF DSP Maharjan Rai and locals to provide with the compensation, but it has yet to be implemented, said Baag.
APF SP at Border Security Office, Mahendranagar, Man Bahadur Rajali Magar said he was not aware about it and will try to acquire information from the authority concerned.
