KATHMANDU, Sept 11: Nepal’s teen cricket Sandeep Lamichhane has been drafted in by Nangarhar for the forthcoming edition of Afghanistan Premier League (APL) in Dubai on Monday. This is Lamichhane’s fourth franchise of the year so far.
He was picked up alongside other global associate stars like Ryan ten Doeschate (the Netherlands), Mohammad Naveed (the UAE) and Calluum Macleod (Scotland) during the round 14 of ICC associates category.
Leopards faces defeat despite Lamichhane’s two wickets
The 18-year-old represented Delhi Daredevils in Indian Premier League, Montreal Tigers in Global T20 League Canada and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in Caribbean Premier League earlier this year.
Over 350 players including Nepal national team captain Paras Khadka and ace allrounder Sompal Kami were also included for the drafts. Players from Hong Kong, Oman and Canada are also included in the draft. Players were seeded in six different categories- icon, diamond, gold, silver, ICC Associate and emerging.
Kabul, Nangarhar, Paktia, Balkh and Kandahar are five inaugural participating franchises in APL as confirmed by Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB).
The inaugural season of APL is scheduled to take place from 5th –October 21, 2018 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
