Lactating mother dies due to lack of proper treatment in Bajura

BAJURA, Jan 9: A lactating mother has died during treatment in Kolti area of Bajura. Ansu Budha, 22, of Dopki in Tajakot Rural Municipality-5, Humla gave birth to a child 12 days ago, but died during treatment at Kolti Primary Health Center in Budhinanda Municipality.

She gave birth to a child at the Madana health post of Tajakot rural municipality on December 28. She was brought to the primary health center in Kolti after her health condition deteriorated, said Dr Ranjit Shah at the health post. Following the delivery, she is reported to have suffered respiratory complications. 

According to Dr Shah, she could have been saved if she was taken to a well-equipped hospital for treatment on time. The newborn is said to be in normal condition.
