KATHMANDU, Jan 17: Minister for Labor, Employment, and Social Security Krishna Kumar Shrestha has made public his 'achievement' in the last 100 days of resuming the office.

Issuing a statement on Monday, he said that he made the maximum use of information technology and made labor permit service paperless, and going online by starting the service through an online system to provide services easily.

Under his leadership, all the work related to foreign employment has been arranged through foreign employment management information system as duplication was found in service flow when working both online and manually.

He stated that work has begun to send workers to the long-delayed employment destinations- South Korea and Israel. The EPS renewal process has also moved forward. “Homework has been started to send Nepali nurses for employment by signing a labor agreement with the United Kingdom,” Minister Shrestha said. “Work is being done to sign and renew new labor agreements with various employer countries. Discussions have been initiated with Maldives, France, Seychelles and other countries as new destination countries.”

He emphasized that arrangements have been made to vaccinate Nepali citizens with Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine going for foreign employment.
