KATHMANDU, July 23: Nepal has been defeated by Kyrgyzstan in the semifinal of the Kava U-20 Women Volleyball Championship.

Nepal lost to Kyrgyzstan 0-3 in straight sets in the match held last night in Male, the capital city of the Maldives. In the first set, Nepal witnessed 14-25, in second, 22-25 and in third 13-25 points. 

Nepal and Kyrgyzstan had entered the semifinal of the championship after a league round. 

In the league round as well, Nepal had lost to Kyrgyzstan 0-3 in straight sets.

With this, Nepal will play with the Maldives in a bid for the third position on Tuesday. 

Similarly, Sri Lanka and Kyrgyzstan will be playing the final match. 

In the first semifinal, Sri Lanka secured a 3-0 victory over the Maldives in straight sets.
