ITAHARI, Aug 28: The Kirant Workers´ Party (KWP) has warned of protests against the government´s recently introduced Special Security Plan (SSP). The KWP, which has been demanding ethnic autonomy in various hill districts of eastern Nepal, said that it would launch protests if the government did not withdraw the plan at the earliest.

Addressing media persons at Taltalaiya VDC, Sunsari, KWP central member Subash Kiranti, alleged that the government had adopted the SSP to thwart their movement for federal state system. The KWP, which sat for talks with the government some eight months ago, also said that there was no meaning to hold talks with the government now.

Kiranti claimed that his party has a strong hold in all districts in the eastern region except in Siraha and Saptari districts.
