Speaking at an interaction organized by Nepal-Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NKCCI) recently, Al-Sulaiman said he will do his best to bring four decades long bilateral diplomatic and economic relation to a new height by upholding interest of both countries. [break]
Al-Sulaiman is resident ambassador of Kuwait to India. He also said he would try to bring more investment from Kuwait government through Kuwait Development Fund and the private sector for the development of potential sectors in Nepal. Al-Sulaiman also said Kuwait would recruit more Nepali workers.
“We want to attract more Nepalis to our country in the coming days,” he added.
At present, around 65,000 Nepalis are working in Kuwait. Nepal has been failing to take benefit from four decades long diplomatic relation with Kuwait. The country suffers trade deficit of Rs 1.5 billion with Kuwait.
Surendra Bir Malakar, president of NKCCI, asked the Kuwaiti ambassador to help Nepal in attracting Kuwaiti investment in Nepal´s crucial sectors such as hydropower, infrastructure, tourism and agriculture.
Madhu Kumar Marasini, joint secretary at the Ministry of Finance and Kali Prasad Pokharel, joint secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs asked Al-Sulaiman to take initiative for establish Kuwaiti embassy in Nepal to give new impetus to the bilateral diplomatic and economic relation.
