The festival which is being organized as a collaborative event between the university and students will have performances from various artists including Sugam Pokhrel, Robin & The new Revolution, Abhaya and the steam Injuns, Anuprastha (Sprite band challenge Winners).[break]
“A total of eleven bands will perform throughout the three-day festival,” informed Sharad Chandra Mainali, president of the student welfare council, at the university.
He also informed that apart from the music concert the festival will also boast of Inter College Music Competition, Dance Competition, Art Exhibition, Project Exhibition, Short Movies, Cycle Race, Youth Conference, Food and Game Stalls.
A total of 25 different colleges from Kathmandu Valley are expected participate in the competitions. “The competitions are being organized with the motive of bringing out the creativity within the students,” said Mainali.
Along with the fun activities, students will also get an opportunity to participate in the youth conference. The conference is set to have debates and discussions on various youth issues including youth empowerment, nation building, future of the youth of Nepal amongst other things. “These discussions are expected to be influential and informative for all the participants,” informed Mainali.
The festival is expected to see around 15 thousand students. The organizers claim that they have all the necessary preparations to make the fest a success with adequate security.
Interested students can take the free pick-up buses from New Road, Naya Baneshwar, Jawalakhel and Maharajgunj which will drop them right at the fest. The buses leave at 10 am on all three days and the fest starts at 9 am.
The festival is set to take place from September 24 to 26.
