KATHMANDU, June 17: National Assembly member and former Deputy Prime Minister Bamdev Gautam has claimed that the then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had worked to move forward the State Partnership Program (SPP) with the USA.
Gautam said that he had investigated the program after there was talk about the Sushil Koirala-led government bringing the program to parliament and found that the proposal was put forward by CPN-UML Chairman Oli when he was the Prime Minister. Gautam was the Deputy Prime Minister of the Koirala-led government. Stating that whoever initiated it, the then Prime Minister Oli was involved in pushing it forward and demanded that parliament be informed about the same.

Pointing to Chairman Oli, he said that the personality of any party and its leader would not be small if they are willing to tell the truth. MP Gautam reiterated that the problem related to SPP has been resolved after ruling party Nepali Congress (NC) did not move forward with it.
Similarly, MP Gautam urged Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba to respond to the proposal in Parliament. He claimed that Prime Minister Deuba had insulted the parliamentary dignity by not answering the questions raised in parliament about the SPP.
