Rising water level in the river with the onset of monsoon has been lashing Pillar No 23 at Prakashpur Tapoban area. The breaching has forced the people rehabilitated in Prakashpur to leave the area.[break]
Chief of Koshitappu Wildlife Reserve Shiva Narayan Yadav said the authorities concerned, including Indian officials, have been informed about the problem, but no action has been taken yet to control the breach.
Concerns raised by Nepali officials is said to have fallen on the stony ground of the Indian side and Nepal Koshi Embankment Committee has also not heeded warnings.
Yadav said that the situation will worsen if the Prakashpur section is not repaired immediately.
