KATHMANDU, May 25: The first biannual cultural program ‘Korea Culture Day 2017’ will be held on Saturday at Army Officers’ Club, Kathmandu.
Organized by the Embassy of Republic of Korea based in Kathmandu, the program includes K-pop competition, Korea Food Festival, Quiz on Korea through which a vivid aspect of Korean culture can be experienced live.
The preliminary round was held on Saturday in Kathmandu in which 67 teams with around 300 participants took part for over three hours. Twelve selected teams will perform their talent in the competition to be held on Saturday.
The Nepali K-pop teams, Mongolian Namja and Strukpop will be performing in the event including Nepal’s popular singer Sabin Rai. The first team to be selected in the K-pop competition will bag eight hundred dollars worth gift hamper from Samsung and the winner of Quiz on Korea will have a chance to take part in the final competition in Korea with free round air ticket and accommodation with especial prize distribution to some of the excellent performers.
The event will begin from 12-5pm. The entrance is free for all the visitors.
