“I will give due consideration to leaders from the Deuba camp while making nominations for other posts in the party,” a leader close to Shrestha quoted President Koirala as saying.
Shrestha had asked President Koirala to rethink his nomination proposal in order to run the party smoothly. “If you stick to the proposal then it won´t do good for the party,” the leader quoted Shrestha as saying.
Shrestha also asked President Koirala to include majority members from Deuba camp while constituting the party´s work performance committee, parliamentary party board, various departments within the party and members to be nominated in the party´s Central Working Committee (CWC).
Deuba faction has been reiterating that it should be given either vice presidency or general secretary and joint general secretary to ensure proportional representation in the party bodies.
President Koirala on Sunday held a meeting with Deuba and asked for support for the nominations. However, Deuba had insisted that they should reach a ´package deal´ to settle the nomination row.
The ongoing CWC meeting was put off after five-day deliberations on Friday after the party´s CWC members stood sharply divided over the two nominations.
