KMC publishes list of 71 tasks to be done immediately in current FY

KATHMANDU, Sept 11: Kathmandu Metropolitan City has published a list of 71 tasks that should be started immediately during the current fiscal year (FY).

Basanta Adhikari, the chief administrative officer of the metropolis, announced the list of work and said that he has instructed all department heads not to delay the scheduled program for any reason. The list of urgent tasks includes high mast light installation, electrical service operation, parking management on office premises and urban areas, operation of health promotion center, etc.

Additional immediate tasks include community dog neutering, construction of monitoring indicators (at various levels such as infrastructure, ward level, department, project and program level), public procurement evaluation process, implementation of decisions made by the executive meeting, implementation of laws, formulation of necessary procedures, implementation of Metropolis Pride Project and Metropolis Golden Project.

Construction of glass fences at pedestrian bridges, regular maintenance of structures including road belts, traffic management, construction of public toilets are also included in the list. The issue of building a lactation room at the office of the metropolis, Kathmandu Plaza, has also been kept in the list.

Last week, the metropolis also provided all the wards with models of public toilets and instructed them to construct public toilets at necessary places. For the past few years, the metropolis has been building toilets in public places, but it has not been able to proceed with the construction yet.

The metropolis has allocated Rs 7.34 billion for the construction of physical infrastructure in the current FY.
