KATHMANDU, Jan 18: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Mayor Balendra Shah (Balen) has resigned from his position.
Shah stepped down from the mayoral post to contest the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) election scheduled for March 5.

According to Shah’s secretariat he submitted his resignation letter to the Deputy Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
Shah’s resignation came prior to formally joining Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) at the party office scheduled today.
