GAIGHAT, Udayapur, Aug 29: Kirant Janabadi Workers’ Party (KJWP) has denied involvement in the bomb blast that occurred near vice-president Parmananda Jha’s residence at Gaurighat on Friday evening, a statement issued by the party’s General Secretary Bidrohi Bibash on Saturday evening said.

Those who claimed responsibility for the blast had defamed KJWP, the statement sent to mediapersons from an unidentified location added. The statement also described the armed group who had organized a press conference at Reporters’ Club on Thursday as a criminal outfit.

Navin Kiranti of Mainabudhuk in Rajarani-9 of Dhankuta is no longer associated with KJWP since he has already been expelled from the post of party chairman, the release said. “Our party condemns the bomb threat by Nabin Kiranti (Khadga Bahadur Dewan) and his group’s activists.”
