To mark the International Social Work Day, JYOTI also organized a blood donation program at the event. The program was attended by prominent figures in education, social work and media.
The program was chaired by King’s College Chairman Dr. D.R. Kafley.
JYOTI aims to focus exclusively on the research and development of education along with social entrepreneurship.
It also believes that the purpose of education is to transform young learners into agents of change and development.
The NGO strives to work to empower communities in less developed areas by exposing them to social entrepreneurship skills.
Their objective also includes promotion of village tourism because promoting this type of tourism holds two purposes: the promotion of small-scale social entrepreneurs, and the development of these sites into research and development centers.
These centers, JYOTI hopes, will be used as a “Social Lab” by students and the society as a small social business.
Apart from promoting social entrepreneurship, the organization has also announced scholarships for three students studying MBA Entrepreneurship at King’s College, Old Baneshwor.
