KATHMANDU, Jan 22: The second edition of Khukuri Challenger T20 Cup is set to hit floors at the Mulpani cricket ground from Wednesday. The 24-day tournament will be the longest running cricket event to be ever hosted in Nepal. The final will be played on February 17 at the TU cricket ground in Kirtipur.
The non-commercial T20 event has been devised for giving young cricketers an opportunity to run shoulders with senior national and international Nepali cricket players.

The Khukuri Challenger T20 Cup will feature 20 cricket clubs from across Nepal, who will play a total of 40 league games before knock-out round. The teams are divided into four groups consisting of five teams each. The top two teams will qualify for the quarterfinals. The winning prize for the tournament has been set at NRs 300,000 followed by NRs 100,000 to the runner-up. The player of the tournament will receive NRs 20,000 and the best batsman and bowler will get NRs 10,000 each.
Teams like Tribhuvan Army Club, Nepal Cricket School, Great Himalayan Cricket Academy, Baluwatar Cricket Club are set to participate in the tournament. Kathmandu Cricket Training Center will face Ultimate Indoor Cricket in the opening match of the event.
