Khatri wins third gold for Morgan

KATHMANDU, Aug 16: Renuka Khatri of Morgan College on Monday won the women´s singles title of the Morgan Cup First Inter-college Table Tennis Tournament at National Table Tennis Training Center, Lainchaur to win the third gold of the tournament. Earlier, Morgan had won gold in women´s doubles and women´s team event.[break]



Khatri eased past Elina Maharjan of her own college 3-1. She won the sets 6-11, 11-8, 11-6, 11-7. Ronjina Deshar of United and Sanisha Shrestha of Morgan jointly finished third.

Prime lifted men´s team event defeating Morgan 3-2. Likewise, Morgan is also sure to win the mix doubles title as both the finalists are from Morgan.



In the first semifinals, Anish Shrestha and Renuka Khatri´s pair had a straight 11-8, 11-7, 12-10 win over Anupbhakta Joshi and Rajina Deshar´s pair of United College. In another semi, Prajwal Rajbhandari and Elina Maharjan´s pair eased past Wilos Shrestha and Selisa Khadgi´s pair of Caribbean in straight sets 11-4, 11-3, 11-7.
