Party leaders have informed that Khanal will visit every household in the 15 VDCs of constituency 1 of the district from Saturday. “He will visit every household in the 15 VDCs of constituency 1 of the district,” said Ram Babu Adhikari, personal aide of Khanal.
Local party leaders have claimed that Khanal´s victory is certain. Of the three constituencies in the district, Khanal´s constituency has the highest 59,814 voters.
Himal Karmacharya, a Nepali Congress (NC) candidate is Khanal´s strongest rival. Yuva Kumar Paudel of UCPN (Maoist) and Devendra Rai from Federal Socialist Party are other competitors in constituency 1 of the district.
Party cadres have said that they would leave no stone unturned to ensure Khanal´s victory in the elections. Khanal had won parliamentary seat from the same constituency in the previous Constituent Assembly election. He had secured 17,655 votes, while his nearest rival Benup Raj Prasai of NC had gained 3,881 votes.
Khanal, who is also contesting the CA elections from constituency 1 of Sarlahi, is hopeful that he would win the elections from both the constituencies. “Madhesi people will also vote for me as our party has stood for the cause of Madhes,” said Khanal.
