Khanal requests PM Deuba to stop Indian restriction on Nepali tea

KATHMANDU, August 9: A delegation led by senior leader of the CPN (Unified Socialist) Jhalnath Khanal met Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Tuesday and drew his attention to the fact that India has imposed an additional 40 percent tax on tea from Nepal.

KATHMANDU, August 9: A delegation led by senior leader of the CPN (Unified Socialist) Jhalnath Khanal met Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Tuesday and drew his attention to the fact that India has imposed an additional 40 percent tax on tea from Nepal.

Former prime minister Khanal's personal secretary Krishna Bhattarai said that Prime Minister Deuba has promised to provide all possible support to resolve the problem after discussing the matter  with the tea traders.


It is said that during the meeting, PM Deuba and leader Khanal discussed contemporary national politics, national economy and foreign policy, upcoming elections and alliances.
