'Khame' brought in Navadurga Temple

BHAKTAPUR, Aug 15: Khame, a male buffalo a symbolic representation of the demon Mahisasur was brought to the Navadurga temple at Bhaktapur on Tuesday.

BHAKTAPUR, Aug 15: Khame, a male buffalo a symbolic representation of the demon Mahisasur was brought to the Navadurga temple at Bhaktapur on Tuesday.

The Khame is brought to the temple, annually, between Ghantakarna Chaturdashi and Naga Panchami, and kept inside the temple until Nawami. 


Since it is believed that the wish of the donor is granted, possibilities of tussle between the locals is common.  While deciding who donats for the buffallo.For this year, Madhusudan Awale’s donation of Rs 107, 000 was accepted.
