Khadka´s relatives tried to convince Special Court Registrar Dhir Bahadur Chand to accept bank guarantee after office hours but Chand rejected the request.
"We haven´t accepted any documents concerning bail after office hours," Chand replied.
Saying that the available facts and document substantiate Khadka´s involvement in the Sudan scam, the bench fixed the bail amount.
Khadka reached the court at 10:30 am Thursday to record his statement regarding the multi-million embezzlement charges.
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) had filed cases at the SC against 34 police officials including retired and incumbent ones including Khadka and three former Inspector Generals.
The anti-graft body has charged the police officials with embezzling about Rs 290 million while purchasing armored personnel carriers (APCs) for Nepal Police peacekeepers in Darfur, Sudan.
A day before, former IGs Ramesh Chand Thakuri and Hem Bahadur Gurung were released from judicial custody after they paid bail amounts of Rs 70 and Rs 50 millions respectively.
Meanwhile, DSP Prakash Adhikari who was sent to jail after failing to submit a bail amount of Rs 1.5 million as ordered by the court on Wednesday, released on Thursday after depositing bail amount as sought by the court.
Earlier, former AIG Dependra Bahadur Bista and DSP Dinesh KC, who also have been implicated in the scam, were freed on bail.
