The event includes a guided tour of the college as well as admission counseling and demonstration of the classes at KCM. The demo classes, of around seven minutes each, are intended to show new students class participation and how classes are conducted at the college. KCM students will also be present to answer queries of the new students and their parents. With the present students on hand at the event, it is a good chance to ask questions relating to studies, faculty members, extracurricular activities and more, and expect honest answers. The college clubs are also going to organize different events for the 'Open House'. There will be food stalls, guided tours by the clubs who will inform about the college's timelines, history and infrastructure, and photo exhibitions.
The 'Open House' is an opportunity for students to explore what the college has to offer to them and whether it matches their college needs.
Mahim Singh, faculty member of KCM, says that the idea behind this event is to give prospective students a feel of what life at KCM will be like. "There will be past and present students of the college to tell them what college life will be like here. We hope parents also come to the event because most parents are strong decision makers when it comes to choosing a college for their children."
Joining the 'Open House' will give students a realistic feel of the college rather than simply depending on the college prospectus and word of mouth information.
