NUWAKOT, April 29: Central committee member of Nepali Congress (NC) Arjun Narsingh KC has said that national unity and communal harmony should not be destabilized while federating the country.

Speaking at a meet the press in Nuwakot on Sunday, KC said none should play on country´s future by view the short-lived protests and slogans.[break]

"State-restructuring should not be done by keeping nationality at stake. Nepali Congress should take decisions by analyzing future pros and cons not for present time," KC added.

KC opined that Brahmins, Chhetri, Giri, Puri, Dashnami, Sanyasi and some other castes should not be sidelined by keeping in the list of ´others´ adding that proportional participation of all should be ensured based on population.

Saying the NC proposed for seven provinces by considering country´s economic and ecological aspects, KC claimed that the seven-province model floated by the NC was scientific.

In a separate context, fringe parties in Nuwakot have complained that they were sidelined by major political parties.

They said they were not given chance to lead the district-level peace committee though agreement was made to head the committee turn by turn.
