Kathmandu Valley sees 843 new COVID-19 cases, total caseload goes past 71,000

KATHMANDU, Oct 28: The total number of people infected by the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has reached 71,488 in the Kathmandu Valley including 843 new cases confirmed on Wednesday.

KATHMANDU, Oct 28: The total number of people infected by the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has reached 71,488 in the Kathmandu Valley including 843 new cases confirmed on Wednesday.


According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), the Valley, where lies the capital city of Nepal, added 368 females and 475 males in the list of COVID-19 infection in the past 24 hours.

Of the three districts in the Valley, Kathmandu alone reported a total of 57,896 COVID-19 cases so far while 8,170 people in Lalitpur and 5,422 people in Bhaktapur have so far been diagnosed with this viral infection.


The Valley has so far recorded 319 deaths linked with COVID-19 which accounts for 35.96 percent of the total fatalities reported across the country.


There are a total of 19,678 active cases in the Valley as of Wednesday afternoon.
