KATHMANDU, Feb 25: The Kathmandu Valley where Nepal's capital city lies reported further deterioration in the air quality on Thursday.

According to the data collected from pollution monitoring stations installed at different places of the Valley, the poorest air quality was recorded in the morning between 9 and 10, the time when most businesses and offices commence their daily businesses.  The AQI docked at 184 μg/m³ during the hour.

The cleanest air (115.54 μg/m³) on Thursday was measured in the afternoon, which, however, is by far worse than the standard of 25 μg/m³ prescribed by the World Health Organization (WHO) and 40 μg/m³ set by the Government of Nepal.
