KATHMANDU, April 18: The Kathmandu Valley, the country’s most densely-populated place, added 435 new cases of the coronavirus disease on Sunday alone, revealed the daily COVID-19 updates released by the health ministry.

Of the three districts in the Valley, Kathmandu reported 326 cases while 64 cases in Lalitpur and 45 in Bhaktapur were detected in the past 24 hours.

Despite the rising COVID-19 risk and the government’s appeal to start online classes, most schools in the Valley are yet to suspend physical classes. Sunday’s COVID-19 updates revealed that 112 people below 20 years of age tested positive for the infectious disease.
