Kathmandu’s air quality continues to worsen

AQI measured nearly 200 μg/m³  in the capital city on Friday


KATHMANDU, Jan 29: Air quality of the Kathmandu Valley was measured at PM 2.5 reading 193.47 μg/m³ on Friday.

Kathmandu, the most densely-populated and highly-polluted city of the country, witnessed continued deterioration in the quality of air. The lowest PM2.5 reading on Friday was recorded at 63.92 μg/m³ in the afternoon (between 3 and 4).


The worst quality of the air in the capital city was recorded on January 5 earlier this year with fine particulate matter (PM2.5) reading standing at 401.67 micrograms per cubic meter (μg/m3).
