Kathmandu continues to breathe low quality air, PM 2.5 reading docks at 186.22 μg/m³

KATHMANDU, Feb 15: The air pollution level in the country’s capital city has been deteriorating for the last few days.

The air quality index (PM2.5 reading) of Kathmandu was measured at 186.22 μg/m³ between 10  and 11 in the morning, which, is hugely worse compared to the healthy air standard of PM 2.5 reading of 25 μg/m³ prescribed by the World Health Organization (WHO). 

According to the data collected from various pollution monitoring stations installed at various places in the Kathmandu Valley, PM2.5 pollutants were recorded at the lowest at 101.39μg/m³ in the afternoon between 2 and 3.
